It points to the places that need healing.
“We don’t have to be afraid of the spiral. It points to the places that need healing.” I recently said this to someone who was afraid of “spiraling downward” into depression and anxiety. However, by opening up to the idea of approaching what they’d been trying so hard to avoid, Jesus showed up and offered the comfort and assurance this person so desperately needed.

Depression and anxiety downward spiral
He will meet you as well. Jesus is not distant or indifferent—He is a faithful friend and the truest source of comfort. In moments when life feels dark, overwhelming, or beyond your control, you are not meant to face them alone. You can invite Him into those very places you might be tempted to avoid or shut down.
Ask God to show you where Jesus is right now, and where He was in your most painful moments. Trust that He is right there, and always has been - steady, compassionate, and attentive to your pain. He does not turn away from your fear or confusion. He is with you, even when you cannot yet feel His presence.
